Par Équipe Elite School · moniteurs certifiés IKO
If you want to fully immerse yourself in the kiteboarding lifestyle and graduate from the beach with the skills, confidence, and autonomy to ride anywhere in the world, the 6-Day Kitesurf Camp in Essaouira is the gold standard.
Spanning nearly a full week, this comprehensive camp takes you safely and systematically through the entire learning curve. You won’t just learn to stand up on a board — you’ll learn to read the ocean, master the wind, cross the bay, and become a true independent kiteboarder. With Elite School (IKO since 2008).
Set against Morocco’s most vibrant coastal city: intense, rewarding afternoons on the Atlantic paired with laid-back mornings in the UNESCO-listed Medina.
Why the 6-Day Camp is the Ultimate Choice
Kitesurfing is a sport of muscle memory and conditioning. The 6-day format offers massive advantages that shorter camps simply cannot match:
Eliminate the Rush
Learning to kite means processing a lot of technical information (kite control, board management, safety). A 6-day window gives your brain and body time to rest, adapt, and build deep muscle memory.
Guaranteed Progression
Shorter camps can leave you right on the edge of riding. Six days ensure you cross the threshold — riding both directions, turning, and controlling your speed.
Weather Proofing
Essaouira boasts some of the most consistent trade winds (Alizés) on the planet. A 6-day stay maximises premium wind windows for every stage of your progression.

Your 6-Day Evolution Masterclass
A standard 6-day camp delivers 12 to 18 hours of high-quality on-water coaching (typically 2 to 3-hour daily sessions), guiding you through every level of the IKO curriculum.
Phase 1: Ground Control & Wind Theory (Days 1 & 2)
Day 1: fitted for premium harness, wetsuit, and safety gear. Spot analysis, wind windows, safe rigging, trainer kite on the sand — quick-release until second nature.
Day 2: full-sized inflatable on the sand. Launch, land, and control with one hand — preparing for the unique pull of the wind.
Phase 2: The Water Arena & Body-Dragging (Days 3 & 4)
Day 3: relaunch a crashed kite from the water, then body-dragging — pull through the water on your stomach, generate and dump power at will.
Day 4: advanced upwind body-dragging — the crucial safety skill to retrieve your board if it comes off in deep water.
Phase 3: The Board & Autonomy (Days 5 & 6)
Day 5 (The Water-Start): board on your feet, coordinate kite and board, dive into the power zone, celebrate your first sustained rides across the bay.
Day 6 (Riding & Independence): edge on your heels to ride upwind, control speed, controlled stop, full right-of-way briefing — graduate as an independent rider.

The Camp Lifestyle: Medina Magic & Beach Vibe
A 6-day camp is a lifestyle transformation. Local thermal winds build and peak in the early afternoon:
Mornings: sleep in, rich Moroccan breakfast (msemen, eggs, argan oil, amlou), white-and-blue Medina labyrinth, or morning surf / SUP while the ocean is glassy.
Afternoons: 100% kite camp — riding, crashing, laughing, pushing limits until sunset over Mogador Island.
Evenings: panoramic rooftop with instructors and international camp mates — tagines, grilled seafood from the port, mint tea under the stars.
