Family surf lessons are one of our most popular summer requests: parents and children in the water together, or one surfing while the other cheers from the beach.
We welcome children from age 6 (often 8–10 in groups depending on sea confidence). Recommended format: semi-private (2 people) or private for real corrections. IKO & ISA coaches, calm morning slots on the bay.
Our family-friendly approach
- Small groups — max 4 in collective lessons
- Parents welcome on the beach during the session
- Split by level if needed (kids / adults)
- Safety briefing adapted for younger surfers
- School since 2008 — 14 Rue Skala, close to the beach
Best spot for families
Essaouira bay: sandy bottom, gentle waves in the morning, easy access from the school. We avoid heavy swell for children’s first sessions.

FAQ — Family surf lessons
From what age can a child learn to surf? +
From age 6 in an adapted lesson if the child can swim and follows the briefing. In groups we often target 8–10+ depending on comfort in the sea.
Can we book a private family lesson? +
Yes — semi-private (2 people) or private family session on request. Tell us ages and levels when booking.
Should we book ahead in summer? +
Recommended 24–48 h in advance, especially July–August. Morning slots (8:00–10:30) are calmest for kids.
